Effective Date: January 31, 2026
Safety is core to how RUSH operates. This policy explains the safety tools we provide, how moderation works, what we escalate quickly, and the limits of what any platform can realistically guarantee.
Quick Read
- RUSH is an adults-only service.
- We use blocking, reporting, moderation review, and location privacy controls to reduce harm.
- We prioritize minors, non-consensual imagery, violence, coercion, and self-harm risk.
- We do not monitor all messages in real time.
- We may involve law enforcement when legally required or when there is imminent danger.
1. Safety Principles
RUSH’s safety approach is built on five principles:
- Consent is mandatory.
- Harmful behavior is not tolerated.
- User reports matter.
- Evidence should be handled carefully and securely.
- Urgent risks should be escalated quickly.
2. Safety Features
Blocking
- Blocking is immediate.
- Blocked users cannot see or interact with each other.
- Users are not notified when they have been blocked.
Reporting
- You can report profiles, messages, photos, or behavior patterns.
- Reports can include screenshots and context.
- Reported users are not told who reported them.
Location Privacy
- Exact GPS coordinates are not shown to other users.
- Displayed location is approximate and fuzzed.
- You can hide from Right Now while staying active elsewhere in the app.
Content Moderation
- Uploaded photos may be scanned for prohibited content.
- Flagged content and user reports are reviewed by trained moderators.
- Violating content can be removed even before additional enforcement occurs.
Age Restriction
- Users must confirm they are 18 or older during registration.
- Accounts involving minors are escalated immediately.
- Suspected CSAM may be reported to NCMEC and law enforcement where required.
3. What to Report Immediately
Use in-app reporting for any safety issue, but prioritize the following:
Immediate Escalation
- minors or suspected minors;
- CSAM;
- non-consensual intimate imagery;
- credible threats of violence;
- stalking, coercion, or blackmail; and
- imminent self-harm or suicide risk.
High Priority
- harassment or hate speech;
- fraud or extortion;
- attempts to obtain exact location;
- impersonation or catfishing;
- explicit content in public areas; and
- drug or weapon sales.
Standard Priority
- rude or disrespectful behavior;
- profile policy violations;
- spam; and
- suspected fake accounts.
4. How Reporting Works
Intake
When you file a report:
- it enters our moderation queue with the information you provide;
- automated systems may prioritize high-risk categories; and
- the report is timestamped and logged for review consistency.
Review
Moderators may review:
- the reported content;
- surrounding context and conversation history;
- the user’s prior moderation history; and
- behavior patterns indicating repeated misconduct.
Action
Depending on severity, we may:
| Action | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| Content removal | Policy-violating media or profile content |
| Warning | Minor or first-time issue |
| Feature restriction | Risk reduction while issues are reviewed |
| Temporary suspension | Serious misconduct |
| Permanent ban | Severe or repeated violations |
| Law enforcement referral | Criminal conduct or imminent danger |
Evidence Handling
- Evidence tied to confirmed violations may be retained for up to two years.
- Evidence not tied to a confirmed violation may be deleted during routine cleanup.
- Access is limited to authorized personnel.
- Stored evidence is protected with security controls appropriate to its sensitivity.
Reporter Protection
- We do not disclose reporter identity.
- Retaliation against reporters is prohibited.
- Good-faith reporting does not trigger penalties, even if a report does not result in action.
5. Moderation Priorities
Immediate Action
- CSAM or suspected minors
- credible threats of serious harm
- explicit non-consensual content
- stalking or coercion
- suicide or self-harm risk
- location triangulation attempts
High Priority
- hate speech and targeted discrimination
- harassment patterns
- impersonation or identity fraud
- extortion or blackmail
- public explicit content
- repeat violators
Standard Priority
- rude behavior
- spam
- minor profile issues
- lower-level policy infractions
6. User Protections
Blocking and Separation
- Blocks are mutual and immediate.
- Users cannot bypass blocks by creating new accounts.
- Retaliatory contact through new accounts may lead to permanent ban.
Privacy Controls
- Sensitive profile fields can be hidden or limited.
- Right Now visibility can be reduced or disabled.
- Users can request account deletion or data access as described in the Privacy Policy.
Appeals
RUSH does not currently guarantee a formal appeals process. For exceptional circumstances, contact support@feeltherush.app. Reinstatement is not guaranteed.
No Retaliation
Retaliation includes:
- creating new accounts to contact a reporter;
- harassment through other platforms;
- sharing private material to punish or expose someone; or
- coordinating harassment campaigns.
Retaliation may result in permanent ban.
7. Emergency Protocol
When we believe there is imminent risk of serious harm, we may:
- escalate internally for urgent review;
- attempt outreach to the person at risk, when feasible;
- preserve relevant evidence; and
- contact law enforcement or emergency services, where legally permitted and appropriate.
Examples of Emergency Triggers
- credible suicide or self-harm statements;
- detailed threats of violence;
- evidence of captivity, abuse, or coercion;
- CSAM or child exploitation.
Important Limitation
RUSH does not monitor all messages in real time. Emergency action usually depends on:
- user reports;
- automated safety signals; or
- visible flagged content.
User Notification
We may notify affected users about law enforcement disclosures unless:
- notification is prohibited by law;
- notification would increase safety risk; or
- notification would compromise an active investigation.
8. Law Enforcement Cooperation
We may work with law enforcement when:
- valid legal process requires it;
- there is imminent danger to a person;
- crimes involving minors are suspected; or
- mandatory reporting laws apply.
Our Process
- verify legitimacy;
- review scope;
- provide only what is legally required or appropriate;
- document the request and response; and
- notify users when permitted.
For full details, see our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
9. Location Safety
Technical Protections
- exact coordinates are not shown to other users;
- location is fuzzed to a minimum approximate radius;
- displayed position may be randomized within that radius; and
- photo EXIF location metadata may be stripped before storage.
User Controls
- hide from Right Now;
- limit distance visibility where available; and
- adjust profile visibility settings.
Prohibited Conduct
The following may result in permanent ban:
- triangulating or attempting to calculate exact location;
- monitoring another user’s movements;
- using location information to stalk, threaten, or harm someone.
Safety Guidance
Avoid sharing:
- your home address;
- your workplace address;
- daily routines; or
- nearby landmarks that make your address obvious.
10. Right Now Feature Safety
Right Now is intended for immediate local discovery, not blind trust.
Safer Use
- verify identity before meeting;
- meet in a public place first;
- tell a friend where you are going;
- keep your phone available;
- arrange your own ride; and
- leave immediately if something feels wrong.
Common Red Flags
- refusal to verify identity;
- pressure to meet immediately;
- requests for your exact address;
- inconsistent stories;
- attempts to isolate you; or
- requests for money.
11. LGBTQ+ Safety Considerations
RUSH serves users in regions with very different legal and social conditions.
If you are in a sensitive region, consider:
- using a nickname;
- limiting identifiable photos;
- hiding from Right Now;
- being selective about what you disclose; and
- taking extra caution before meeting anyone offline.
We implement privacy protections, but we cannot guarantee safety in every jurisdiction or scenario.
12. Off-Platform Safety
If you meet someone from RUSH offline:
Before
- verify who they are;
- tell a trusted person your plan;
- choose a familiar, public location; and
- decide how you will check in afterward.
During
- meet in public first;
- watch your drink;
- keep your belongings with you; and
- trust your instincts.
After
- check in with your trusted contact;
- report concerning behavior; and
- stop contact if you do not feel safe.
RUSH cannot control or monitor offline interactions. Use the same caution you would use meeting anyone from the internet.
13. Updates
We may update this Safety Policy as features, risks, and legal requirements evolve. Material changes may be communicated in the app.
Continued use of RUSH after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Contact
